Days after her onstage rant about President Barack Obama and Beyonce Knowles, Etta James has come to her own defence, saying she didn’t mean anything by her comments.
The 71-year-old singer said that she would “whip” Beyonce for singing “her song” At Last at an inaugural ball.
“The great Beyonce … I can’t stand Beyonce,” James said.
“I didn’t really mean anything. Even as a little child, I’ve always had that comedian kind of attitude … That’s probably what went into it,” she told the New York Daily News, contactmusic.com reported.
The legendary singer admitted she was a little put out by Beyonce’s performance because it made her feel “left out of something that was basically mine, that I had done every time you look around.”
Beyonce portrayed James — and sang the 1941 song written by Mack Gordon and Harry Warren — in the film Cadillac Records last year.
James also insisted her negative comments about Obama’s appearance were for a laugh.
“(I) always thought he was handsome and he was cool. I still had my joke about him. That might be horrible. The president might not ever like me in life. (But) he’s got other stuff (to worry about) besides Etta James.”
Christian Bale really doesn’t like to be told what to do. Here’s the clip of him freaking out on the set of Terminator 4:

Don’t call him Kanye West anymore.
The rapper is asking his fans to bow down and refer to him by a new name, according to a video posted on his official blog.
“Due to what has happened so severely when the red shoes hit the runway, I was forced to change my name to Martin Louis the King Jr. Address me as such,” the Stronger rapper said in the video.
The name change follows Kanye’s collaboration with French luxury brand Louis Vuitton to design his own style of sneakers. He is currently launching the shoes at Paris Fashion Week.
The rapper has been open about his love for the brand, previously referring to himself as the Louis Vuitton Don.
Kanye is not the first rapper to play the name game. Rapper Diddy has changed his name several times from his original stage name, Puff Daddy.
