One of the iPhone’s stupid limitations is its inability to sync with host computers and transfer files back and forth via bluetooth. An enterprising developer; however, has written an application that allows not only computer-to-iPhone file transfers via Bluetooth, but also iPhone-to-other mobile device file transfers. Its about time!
The Bluetooth file transfer application will only be available through the Cydia distribution framework for Jailbroken iPhones only.
A video of the transfer tool shows files being moved from a Mac to the iPhone, and subsequently from the iPhone to a Sony Ericsson phone (see video below):
The tool appears to be based on the work of the BlueSn0w project, which theoretically allows developers to write/implement fully functional Bluetooth stacks that run on your iPhone, thus opening the door for not only file transfers, but also use of Bluetooth keyboards/mice, syncing with host computers and other mobile devices, and more robust support for pairing with third-party Bluetooth devices. Pretty cool.
According to it’s creator, MC Yogi, this video ‘Vote For Hope,‘ was put together in order to “encourage and inspire … everyone—to get involved, and contribute their time, energy, creativity, and other resources to be the change they want to see in the world”. It seems that Yogi succeeded.
We have talked a lot about the pop-culturization of Obama so far this year, and here’s yet another perfect illustration of the kinds of media which catapulted Obama from presidential candidate, to american cultural icon. It’s hard to watch this video without somehow identifying with the Obama message of hope, change, and, belief. Whether or not viewers are familiar with the Obama political platform, his voting record, or his personal background, this kind of multimedia can be very polarizing and is likely largely responsible for the 66% of voters under 30 which voted for the Obama/Biden ticket in the 2008 election.
If you’ve been following earlier posts we’ve made on this subject, it shouldn’t surprise you that MC Yogi’s next big project is inspired by the life and times of Mahatma Ghandi.
The rapper is asking his fans to bow down and refer to him by a new name, according to a video posted on his official blog.
“Due to what has happened so severely when the red shoes hit the runway, I was forced to change my name to Martin Louis the King Jr. Address me as such,” the Stronger rapper said in the video.
The name change follows Kanye’s collaboration with French luxury brand Louis Vuitton to design his own style of sneakers. He is currently launching the shoes at Paris Fashion Week.
The rapper has been open about his love for the brand, previously referring to himself as the Louis Vuitton Don.
Kanye is not the first rapper to play the name game. Rapper Diddy has changed his name several times from his original stage name, Puff Daddy.
New developments in internet marketing technologies seem to come about on a daily basis. While computers and the internet have become a part of daily life, most users are relatively unsophisticated and mainly use the web for simple communication needs like email, and for doing basic research related to their daily activities via Google. This is all changing. With the emergence of social networking sites life Facebook, Twitter, Craigslist and Youtube, individuals, businesses, governments, and even religious organizations are now beginning to see the enormous marketing potential that lies in usage of these new internet technologies.
CBC news reported today that the Vatican launched its own Youtube channel aimed at communicating on a daily basis with its patrons through streaming internet video. Millions of people use Youtube each day to search for information on just about everything you can imagine. What most people don’t know, is that anyone at all can create their own Youtube Channel. All you need to do is post videos and title them. The potential is massive as hundreds of thousands use Youtube hourly.
The Pope is expected to appear in the Vatican’s Youtube channel on a regular basis. Two minute videos covering developments and activities at the Vatican are expected to be uploaded to the channel daily.

It’s only 3 full days into the highly anticipated administration of United States president Barack Obama, and the 44th president has already left more than his mark on popular culture.
Obama’s effect on pop culture media is no surprise considering that one of the most commonly agreed upon
reason’s for his success has been his ability to energize and mobilize the grass roots base of America. In doing so, he has awoken the imagination and spirit of America’s artists. Sculptors, print makers, web developers, painters, bloggers, movie makers, writers, and creative types of all kinds have used Obama’s inspiration to fuel their capabilities. The result of this is the political deification, and pop culturilization of Obama in a manner which rivals the movements which popularized historical figures such as Ghandi, and Che Guevara. What truly resonates with regard to Obama is that the effect of this ‘Obama-mania’ are not limited to the United States. Worldwide, artists from as far away as France, China, and even India are all inspired by what Obama has come to represent; hope.
I’m always interested in the latest and greatest thing on the internet. For some reason, Twitter is getting tons of press these days and I’m not sure I fully understand its potential. I hear about it on the radio, on tv, on other websites… Sooo many Tweets. Its kinda reminds me of the time that Facebook blew up. Anyways, since I like to stay on top of these sorts of things, I decided to add a Twitter page for BAD (Blog about DAN).
Here’s our account and feel free to ‘follow me’ on Twitter.
Ok so I’ve already expressed the point that I love iPhones and everything about them. In this post I’m going to talk about a new feature that 3rd party developers are working diligently to create. Its the ‘COPY and PASTE‘ feature. Stupidly, Apple decided that they wouldn’t put this feature on their product and quite frankly, I think its one of the biggest mistakes ever. Blackberry is the world leader, and if iPhone wants to compete, they have to have AT LEAST all the same features that the latest Blackberrys have before going above and beyond.
Facts:
The world is competing for the best email phone. There are tons of devices that connect to WAP networks, mobile browers, etc. but only 2 main devices that make it so simple. iPhone VS. Blackberry.
Blackberrys lack in the fun department. Apple’s iPhones have really excelled there but they really took their eye off the efficiency aspect of a business environment
Anyways, I’m getting off topic here… This is a new example of what 3rd party developers have come up with. The first one is called Clipboard and the second is called Clippy. Take a look at these pictures (of Clippy) and tell me what you think!
